★★★★☆ Hey there, foodies! I’ve got a new spot to recommend in Hyde Park – Timpano. And let me tell you, it was a total pleasant surprise for my taste buds!

The atmosphere was green and lush, with a really cool social vibe. I’d say it’s the perfect place to take a date or to have dinner with some friends. I opted to sit at the bar to get a good view, and even though I was by myself, I had a great time.

The staff was friendly, but to be honest, they weren’t as attentive as I’d hoped. But that’s alright, because the food more than made up for it! I was blown away by how delicious everything tasted. I’m definitely planning to come back and try more items on the menu.

I have to give a special shout-out to the Scottish Salmon – it was cooked to perfection and had the perfect herb combination. And the Creamed Spinach was just yummy, although I added a little salt (I admit, I have a bit of a salt problem!). But my absolute favorite dish of the night was the Smoked Gorgonzola Gnocchi. I loved it so much that I ordered seconds!

Just a heads up – the sides are definitely big enough for two people to share. So keep that in mind when you’re ordering.

★★★★★ Sooo Bake’n Babes was a hidden gem I stumbled upon by chance and I’m so glad I did. While I’m not typically a sweets person, I ordered a regular chocolate chip cookie and it was absolutely delicious. The lady at the counter was so friendly and welcoming, and I couldn’t help but appreciate the cute pink decor. If you’re looking for a spot to satisfy your late-night cravings, I highly recommend giving Bake’n Babes a try.

★★★★☆ Sooo Haiku Tampa is a gorgeous restaurant that’s a feast for the eyes both inside and out. The decor and inspirational sayings on the walls are just delightful. I’ve had the pleasure of dining here a few times and always leave feeling satisfied. The atmosphere is just right, whether you choose to sit inside or outside. The food and drinks are always top-notch, and the staff is friendly and attentive. I think it would make a great spot for a date – hint hint, someone!

The owners clearly put their heart into the menu and ambiance, and the staff go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. On my last visit, I enjoyed the lamb lollipops – they’re a must-try. The Soho wings were also great, with a hint of bourbon in the sauce. And the Philly cheesesteak egg rolls were super filling and flavorful. Overall, Rose Bar is a special spot that I hope sticks around for a long time. The artwork showcasing black artists is a nice touch, and the bartenders always have something new and tasty for me to try. Highly recommend checking it out!

Although it’s a rooftop bar, there’s a covered area with seating which is perfect for rainy days. Our waitress was friendly and gave great menu suggestions. I’ll definitely be back!

We ordered the House Hummus & Baba Ghanoush, Steak Tartare, Jerk Chicken Egg Rolls, and Hot Fried Chicken Sliders. The hummus and baba ghanoush were so good, I wanted more. The steak tartare was cooked to perfection and the Jerk Chicken Egg Rolls were bursting with flavor. The Hot Fried Chicken Sliders were a real treat.

The interior decor is just as stylish and makes for a great hangout spot with friends or a casual date night. Their drinks and food are just as good as I remember them to be. I’ll definitely be returning to try more items on their new menu.

On this visit, I ordered the hummus and the braided short rib. The hummus was good as expected, and while I’m still waiting for a fun review of a hummus disaster, it was a solid choice. The braided short rib was a standout dish, with a delicious bacon butter topping that added a nice touch of saltiness to the dish. Be warned though, it might be a bit too salty for some, but for me, it was a clean plate kind of meal.

★★★★☆ Sooo I stumbled upon the EDGE Rooftop Cocktail Lounge while searching for a COVID-safe rooftop bar to enjoy a drink with a view. The ambiance was relaxing and had a chill vibe to it. I was pleased to find my own table with pretty views. Although the drink selection was good, it was a bit pricey. Nevertheless, I was willing to pay for the ambiance, and the drinks were worth it. They offered a few finger food items, but I ended up dining at the restaurant downstairs. The waitresses were attentive and checked on me frequently. All the staff wore masks, making me feel comfortable. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely return.

Sooo Haven was an incredible food adventure that exceeded all expectations. The mellow and relaxing ambiance on the outdoor patio was perfect for enjoying the cool evening breeze. The staff was personable and attentive, with one even surprising us with a flamingo stick after my friend complimented his shirt. We had a great time and everything we ordered was on point. We might seem greedy, but we just wanted to try a few items!

Charcuterie Board = Haven definitely knows how to make a good charcuterie board.

Bern’s Filet Mignon = The unexpected flavor rush in each bite was a delightful surprise.

Coal Grilled Octopus = It was our first time trying octopus, and Haven did not disappoint.

Raw Oysters & BBQ Oysters = We love oysters, and the BBQ flavor was a delightful twist.

Loaded Mac & Cheese = As a Southern girl, I’m picky with my mac & cheese, but this was very delicious, even if it wasn’t quite my style.

Fried Brussels Sprouts Salad = We discovered something amazing with this dish! It was so good that we debated who would get the last bite.
